Club History

Eclipse Gymnastics was founded by Terry and Christine on 1st June 2007.  With the help of daughter Beverley and granddaughter Shoney and the fantastic support of coaches, gymnast volunteers, parents and The Pemberton Centre the club continues to grow.

It is the only club in the region specialising in Acrobatic Gymnastics and Trampette work.

Eclipse provides for the local community offering General Gymnastics to those who wish to learn a basic grounding and work towards British Gymnastic Proficiency Awards. Gymnasts also have the potential to progress to the Acrobatic, Tumbling, Display and Cheerleading squads.  These squads perform at their very own fantastic Annual Christmas Shows, Competitions, Festivals and the much loved displays at local events.

Eclipse also holds other events open to all gymnasts, such as Annual Presentation Evenings, Themed Discos, Family Fun Days and Family Trips.

With over 20 years experience in gymnastics with the Calderdale School of Physical Education, and being one of the founder members of a very successful Gymnastics Club in West Yorkshire, Terry and Christine moved to Rushden to be with family and with the intention of starting a small gymnastics club.

The Pemberton Centre agreed to assist promotion of the club and flyers were prepared and sent to local schools in the area ‘The rest is History’.

With continued support from the Centre Management and excellent fund raising by Friends of Eclipse the club now has a very good range of equipment to suit all ages and ability.
